The Preschool program strives to cultivate the innate sense of wonder of young children about themselves and their world. It seeks to develop an awareness that each child is special - a gift from God. A loving, Christian atmosphere, sensitive to the individual child's abilities, potential and readiness, prevails throughout the Preschool. The primary aim is to enable each child to develop a positive self-concept, a positive attitude toward learning and fundamental readiness skills.

The Lower School includes grades 1-4. Particular emphasis is placed on the developmental stages of growth at each level and the learning styles of the students. Teachers develop a program geared to those concerns as they provide a solid foundation in basic skills for the mastery of subject matter. Students are joyous learners as they are encouraged to integrate the material into their lives. Teachers and parents work closely together to help the girls develop age-appropriate study and organizational skills. Students are guided to take responsibility for their learning and are encouraged to be creative, intellectually curious, and independent.

The years of Middle School are a time for tentative attempts at self-understanding, ever-changing relationships with peers, development of values, and early attempts at real scholarship. The Middle School at Sacred Heart tries to provide an atmosphere of love, concern, and support in which all of these changes can emerge, where the turbulence of development can be guided, false starts forgiven, and hurts mended-all within an environment directed toward the scholastic foundation required for college preparatory study in the high school.

The Upper School operates on a semester basis and utilizes flexible scheduling providing for small group instruction, independent study, and the possibility of taking courses on nearby campuses. To meet graduation requirements, the student is expected to earn a minimum of twenty-four units of credit. In addition, as a junior she is expected to participate fully in the school's Community Service Program, which involves the completion of at least fifty hours of volunteer work, and as a senior she is required to give a senior speech. Honors and Advanced Placement courses are offered. Generally, 100% of Sacred Heart students attend college.
