Hearts were in abundance this week as we celebrated Valentine’s Day on the Mater Campus. The Nursery students presented a precious chapel service for Little Hearts and Preschool students and teachers this morning based on their ideas of love. All enjoyed their poems and songs. "How do we love our ASH girls? Let us count the ways."
Carnival Clean-up:
Please send any unwanted Mardi Gras beads to school. We are collecting them to donate to the Strive Center, our neighbor on Napoleon Avenue. The Center is "a private non-profit organization that provides employment and vocational training to men and women with mental retardation giving them opportunities to earn income and to reach their potential as members of the community." Please bundle or bag the beads, and send them to school before February 29.
Preschool-Jump Rope for the Heart:
Enclosed with this Childpost is a letter from the P.E. teachers explaining "Jump Rope for the Heart." The Prekindergarten and Kindergarten girls will participate with the LS girls in this activity on Thursday, February 28. Please return the parent permission form for your daughter.
Family Fun Run/Walk:
A Fun Run Named Desire will take place on Saturday, March 1, at Audubon Park. You do not have to be a serious runner to participate, and it’s a nice way to kick off a weekend with your family. If you are interested, please return the enclosed flyer.

. to the Fathers’ Club for hosting such a fabulous Carnival picnic. The food was delicious, and we were fortunate that the weather was so beautiful.
. to the Little Hearts dads and "special friends" who were able to come for "Daddy and Donuts" this week. Your daughters love seeing you at school. If you weren’t able to make it, why not talk to the teacher about coming in one morning to read a favorite book. That’s always a hit with the girls.
. to all who contributed for February’s Faculty Appreciation. Everything was delicious!
. to the Hayne and Garvey families for being the high bidders at the ASH auction for the Little Hearts and Preschool "Monday Sundae" parties hosted by Mrs. Higginbotham and Mrs. Villeré. The students in Mrs. Misuraca’s, Mrs. Alpaugh’s, and Mrs. Guider’s homerooms were the lucky recipients.
. to Tricia Busha (mother of Summer) who will serve as a room mother for Mrs. Guider’s homeroom for the rest of the year. Tricia is replacing Becky Leach whose family relocated to New York at mid-term.
