"The gospels do not describe Jesus coming forth from the tomb. They only report his meetings with his disciples, now one, now them all. In turn, the disciples, burning with overpowering belief, told others. And so generations of believers have met the Risen Jesus too because of their words and witness. 'He disappeared from before our eyes, that we might find him in our hearts,' St. Augustine said of our Risen Lord. Why envy those who saw him? Who knew him face to face? Shall we not meet him by faith in our hearts?' "
—Victor Hoagland, C.P.
Good Manners for April:
This month we will "practice good table manners." At snack time we say grace and ask the girls to wait for all to be served before beginning to eat. We also make it a point to thank those who have brought snack or who are helping to serve. Those who stay for lunch work hard to use good table manners as they sit together to enjoy their meal. You can help us at home by encouraging remaining at the table, proper use of a napkin and eating utensils, and polite conversation during family meals.
Confetti Egg Week:
Don't forget that next week (March 31- April 4) is Confetti Egg Week on the Mater Campus! The homeroom that sends in the most empty eggshells (suitable for filling with confetti) will win a pizza party, compliments of the Confetti Egg Booth chairs.
Instructions for EGG-ceptional eggshell submissions: Make a quarter-size hole in the egg and thoroughly rinse out eggshells with cold water. Replace the clean shells in the egg carton. Be sure that your daughter's name and homeroom are on the carton!
Boil Them and They Will Come:
Please plan to join the adult school community at the Fathers' Club Crayfish Boil scheduled for Friday, April 11, beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the gym on the Rosary Campus. This is one of the best kept secrets at Sacred Heart—it's free, casual, and fun! Why not get together a group from your daughter's class? Don't forget to get a babysitter.
Jump Rope for the Heart:
Ms. Atkinson and Mrs. Saltaformaggio, our P.E. teachers, are delighted to report that the Mater Campus was able to contribute $1370 to the American Heart Association as a result of contributions to Jump Rope for the Heart. What a success—and the girls had a great time! Thank you.
Movin' On Up:
Beginning next week, the Nursery students and teachers will attend morning assembly with the PK and K girls each day. During this period of transition into the Preschool the girls will take part in shared prayer, group singing, and general instructions led by Mrs. Higginbotham. It's an exciting time to be in Nursery! Please ask your daughter about what she is learning.
Thank You.
. to the Donaldson Dental Group for donating the "supply bags" included with this Childpost for the kindergarten girls. Good dental habits begin early!
