Advent.

As we begin the new liturgical season of Advent, a time of waiting and preparation for our King, Jesus, the Middle School will be celebrating in a variety of ways.  Every morning, there will be an assembly for an Advent wreath lighting, prayer, and presentation by the 6th grade of their Jesse Tree decorations.  The Jesse Tree is a traditional Catholic method of recalling the genealogy and ancestor of Jesus.  In Religion classes, the students will continue to study the liturgical calendar. A special daily Advent calendar will be shared and given for use at school and home.  Students will be encouraged to prepare for the coming of Christ as history, purpose and cultural celebrations of Advent will also be discussed.  Finally, St. Nicholas Day, on December 6th will be remembered with a treat.  We look forward to joyfully preparing ourselves for the coming of Jesus as a child at Christmas.

A beautiful sight for all to enjoy!

After School Activities.

The Spring semester registration forms will be sent out before we break for the holiday.  Please print the form/forms which pertain to your daughter and return to Mrs. O’Keefe. We are continuing with the activities of the Fall semester and hope to add a new class on Mondays. stay tuned!

Uniforms..

During the holidays please take some time to verify uniform requirements and to put your daughter’s name in her clothes items.  The uniform requirements are stated in the MS Handbook on page 30.  Please pay special attention to the uniform shoe requirement.New Balance (grey) style WR790GB or those with Sperry Topsiders from last year that are in good condition may continue to wear them.

Feedback.

Thanks to the many families who responded to the conference survey.  I appreciate your input.  A large percentage responded that they would attend the Spring conference.  That is wonderful news!  Conference time is challenging for all, but an important part of the school year.   The faculty work diligently preparing for conferences to give you an accurate picture of your daughter in the classroom.  In the comment section of the survey many of you expressed your appreciation for the faculty. When you have a moment, your daughter’s teachers appreciate hearing your accolades personally.
