Upper School economics students advance in entrepreneur competition
Posted 12/22/2017 01:12PM

Upper School economics students have advanced to the second round of the 2018 Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge. A partnership between Junior Achievement New Orleans (JA), the Brees Dream Foundation, and the Idea Village, the competition teaches entrepreneurial thinking to high school students. Semi-finalists, which include the top 25 student teams of nearly 300 entries, were announced by Drew Brees on December 18. Sacred Heart team members include Caroline Martin '18, Jenna O'Dwyer '18, and Elizabeth Skrmetta '18.

As semi-finalists, students will be mentored by local entrepreneurs and community leaders to fine tune their business pitch. After their training, there will be a few days of online voting in early March. Finalists will then be selected to present their ideas at a culminating event during the Idea Village's New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) in late March.
