Sacred Heart's Connie La Nasa Shannon '90, Chief Financial Officer, was recently featured by New Orleans CityBusiness as "One to Watch in Education."

Connie Shannon oversees the planning, organization and management of the business office and human resources. She is a member of the administrative team and works closely with the finance, legal and insurance team and building and grounds committees of the Board of Trustees. Since she began her new role, Shannon has facilitated the integration of a new technology platform as a way to have integrated enrollment, administrative and financial tools for parents at Sacred Heart. She has been a certified public accountant for
more than 20 years. Upon graduation from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, she worked with Arthur Andersen LLP in New Orleans for almost seven years as an auditor and audit manager. After retiring to raise her family of four, she returned to the workplace at Holy Cross School in 2014 as a controller. She was later promoted to the leadership position of CFO, where she was responsible for all aspects of financial and accounting relationships for the school.
Shannon is a member of the Louisiana CPA Society and the National Business Officers Association. She has served on the board as treasurer of the Junior League of New Orleans, including service on its Finance Council as chair and sustaining advisor. She has also volunteered for the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Stuart Hall School for Boys, St. Martin’s Episcopal School, the Children’s Hospital Sugarplum Committee, Junior Achievement, United Way and St. Francis Xavier School. Shannon graduated with a degree in accounting from Tulane. She was the president of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society, was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society and received the Dean’s Outstanding Service Award at graduation.
