On campus, being a Sacred Heart student means being a part of a family. Older girls mentor the younger ones and assist in guiding them through the milestones and traditions of the school. In the community, we reach out to our neighbors so our talents and energy illustrate firsthand how we can all make a difference in the world.

The Academy of the Sacred Heart, together with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), hosted a very moving naturalization ceremony for 43 new citizens on April 28.

Back in the 1970s, I was adopted from the Edna Gladney Adoption Center in Texas. From a young age, I knew I was adopted and "chosen" by my parents. I was raised Catholic and lived my adolescence in Catholic School. I always had a passion for helping others, especially children.
