Global Service :: From Local Impact to Global Connection

Central to the mission and identity of all Sacred Heart schools is a commitment to serve others as Goal Three calls Sacred Heart students to “a social awareness which impels to action.”
Service learning is a foundational school value and an integral part of the Sacred Heart experience. Our service program aims to develop in students a reflective eye that always asks, "How am I living the message of the Gospel?"; "How am I tending to those who are most in need?"; "How am I salt and light to the world?"
Matthew 5:13-16 asks us to look at others and their needs first, to see what systems are in place in our institutions and society that are unjust and in need of restructuring, to be involved in those actions so as to collaborate with God and others to create a more equitable and just world.
Our Catholic faith and tradition impel us on this journey to healing and wholeness, and holiness, of oneself, others and the world.
