Middle School Cross Country | Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge

On a beautiful Saturday morning at Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge, the cross country team had one of their best finishes in school history. This meet was a meet  against some of the best teams in the State and with a total of 374 runners. The team finished the day 2nd overall out of 29 teams. Alex J.’33 finished first for the Cardinals and 8th overall to earn a prized t-shirt. Elle F. ’30 finished 2nd for the team and ran her best race of her career with a new personal record time of 13:54 and she earned a prized t-shirt for finishing in the top 15. K.K. D.’31 ran her first race of the season and finished 3rd for the Cardinals with an impressive time of 14:42. Gabrielle L.’33 ran her first ever cross country race and finished 4th for the team and ran a personal record time of 14:46. Reed C. ’33 continued to run impressive times and ran her new personal record time of 14:47 to help lead the team to a 2nd place finish. Rounding out the scoring and helping the team earn valuable points were Emmeline E.’31 and Helen W.’31 The Cardinals are back at again on Wednesday for the NOAL Championship. They will also be competing in the Newman Invitational on Saturday at City Park.
