Middle School Cross Country | NOAL Champions!

Middle School Cross Country

Last Wednesday, the 5th -6th grade Cross Country team was crowned NOAL Champions for winning the NOAL Championship meet at City Park. The team dominated the race and won by 24 points. The Cardinals had 6 runners finish in the top 10. This young team finished the season undefeated in the metro area. The girls pushed themselves and ran their hearts out and cheered each other on during the race. Alex J.’33 finished the race 1st for the cardinals and 2nd overall with a new school record time of 9:55 for the 1.5 mile race. Brynn W.’32 finished 2nd for the team and 6th overall with a very impressive time of 10:24. Gabrielle L. ’33 ran a new personal record time of 10:41 to finish 10th overall in the race. Reed C.’33 ran a new personal record time of 10:45 for the race as she continued to finish in the top 5 for the team. Finishing 5th for the team and earning valuable points for the Cardinals was Brooks R.’33 with a time of 11:36. Victoria H.’33, Claire A.’33, and Elliott D.’33 ran personal records and helped lead the team to victory. The Cardinals finished the race with a team average time of 10:40.

 

The 7th -8th grade team also was crowned NOAL Championships after finishing 1st in the Championship meet. The Cardinals won both meets and showed true grit and teamwork to come home with two trophies. Elle F.’30 finished 1st for the team and 7th overall with a time of 14:04 for the 2 mile race. Jane A.’31 completed the race in a time of 14:25 to finish 2nd for the team and 9th overall. K.K.D.’31 ran 14:53 to lead the Cardinal pack through the finish line. Emeline E.’31 ran a new personal record with a time of 14:55 to finish 4th for the team. Helen W.’31, finished 5th for the team and did a great job of pack running to help lead the team to victory. Helen ran a new personal record time of 14:59. The top 5 runners displayed just how a team can work together to pack, run and to score very important points for the team. This group of 5 helped the Cardinals beat their opponents by 1 point to earn the victory. Elsa G.’31 continued to push herself towards her goals to run a new personal record of 15:16. The team finished the meet with a 2 mile average time of 14:39.

 The Middle School team competed in the Newman Invitational and came home with another 1st place finish. Gabrielle L.’33, won her first ever Cross Country meet by finishing 1st overall with a new personal record time of 10:54. Reed C.’33, pushed herself and ran hard the entire race to finish 2nd overall. Aria K.’33, ran her best race of the season with a new personal record time of 11:18 to finish 3rd overall. It was so nice to see those double heart jerseys finishing the race 1, 2 and 3 overall. The girls were so excited to earn a prized t-shirt for a top 10 finish. Catherine C.’32. scored valuable points for her team by finishing 4th for the cardinals with a very impressive time of  11:42. Elliott D.’33 ran a new personal record time of 11:55 to earn her first t-shirt of the season. Elizabeth G.’33, ran her best race of the year and really pushed herself to a new personal record with a time of 12:13. The Cardinals proved this year that they are a very good cross country team and they are not afraid to push themselves and set goals. The Cardinals finished the season with a new school record 1.5 mile time and 5 1st place finishes and both teams winning the NOAL Championship.
