MS Track & Field Wraps Up Strong Season at NOAL Championships

The MS Track team participated in the NOAL championship on Monday and Tuesday. The 5/6 grade team placed 4th out 13 teams while the 7/8 team placed 3rd out of 15 teams. The Cardinals had many top 6 finishes contributing to team totals. In the 5/6  grade division Georgia C.’32 placed 5th in the 100 meter dash. Artemis L.’33 placed 6th in the 100 meter hurdles. In the 1600 meter run Georgia C.’32 snagged 4th place while Reed C. ’33 got 5th in the same event. Juliette H. ’33 threw a 36-03 in the discus for a 3rd place finish while Corrine K. ’33 tallied a 5th place finish in the same event. Steall O. ’32 jumped a personal best at 4-04 in the high jump finishing 1st overall in the event. Clara G. ’33 finished in 4th place in the shot put with a throw of 18-04. The 4x100 relay of Georgia, Adelaide, Laney, and Mae Helen finished in 4th place while Laney, Aria, Margaret and Stella managed a 3rd place finish in the 4x200 relay. To wrap up the other relay event in the 4x400 relay Aria, Evie, Lillian, and Gabrielle turned in a 4th place finish. In the 7th/8th grade division Amelia St.’30 turned in a 14.78 in the 100 meter dash for a 3rd place finish, while Mae Helen G.’32 had an impressive 20.14 time in the 100 meter hurdles for a 3rd place finish and Ava L.’32 got 5th in the same event. Marion N.’31 finished 6th in the 200 meter dash.  Joy G.’31 finished in 1st place in the discus event with an impressive throw of 58-03 while Ann Frances H.’30 placed 3rd in the same event. Hartley P.’30 and Hailey T.’30 both finished in the high jump in 4th and 5th place. In the Javelin throw Ann Frances H.’30 turned in a 1st place finish with a throw of 74-10 while Norah L.’30 threw 62-00 for a 3rd place finish. Norah also took 2nd place in the Long jump event while Adelaide S.’32 placed 4th in the same event. Joy G.’31 rounded out her field events with a 2nd place finish in the Shot put. The 4x100 relay team of Coco, Emeline, Madeline, and K.K. turned in a 58.14 for a 2nd place finish while also the same relay team took 3rd place in the 4x200 event. Rounding out the relay events was the 4x800 team of Jane, Naomi, Coco and Helen for a 3rd place finish while the 4x400 relay team of Adair, Vivian, Naomi and Caroline took home a 4th place finish. Congrats Cardinals on a wonderful season!
