The Cardinal basketball team went 1-1 in district play last week. The team defeated Livingston Collegiate Academy on Monday with a final score of 55-22. In this contest the Cardinals had 10 players that contributed to the scoring column. Libby Fitzpatrick ’26 led all scorers with a game high 13 points. Zoie Kelly ’29 was the 2nd leading scorer with 10 points. Rosie Varisco ’28 was the third leading scorer with 9 points and 7 rebounds. The other Cardinal contributors were Leah Varisco ’26 (6 points, 6 assists), Lily Varisco ’27 (5 points, 4 rebounds), Michaela Alvarez ’27 (2 points), Louisiana Paladino ’26 (2 points), Sophie Lo ’26 (3 points), Mary Fitzpatrick ’29 (3 points) and Olivia Gravolet (2 points). The Cardinals the following day dropped a tough contest to  De LaSalle 57-53. The game went back and forth early but the Cardinals ran out of gas and early free throw shooting woes came back to hinder them in the end. Zoie Kelly ’29 led the scoring charge with a team high 16 points followed by Leah Varisco ’26 with 15 points and 8 assists.  The Cardinals have 8 regular season games remaining on their schedule and are hoping to close out the regular season with a bang!
