Cardinal tennis earns State Runner-Up finish with full team effort
Congratulations to the Cardinal tennis team for bringing home the State Runner- Up trophy from the LHSAA State Tournament that took place on 4.27 & 4.28 in Monroe, LA. The team qualified all 5 lines to compete in the tournament, and for the first time in years, all 5 lines scored points to contribute to the team’s success! The doubles team of Charlotte Jenkins ’27 and Elise Scafidel ’28 held steady and dominated on their path to the semifinals, defeating teams from Calvary Baptist, Dunham and the division II champs from Notre Dame. Georgia Dazet ’29 and Laine Suhren ’29 defeated Notre Dame, battled through a tiebreaker against the region III champs from Parkview Baptist, and toppled Calvary Baptist to get to the semifinals. The doubles team of Zoe McCall ’28 and Elodie Scafidel ’26 worked well together to determinedly beat teams from Oak Grove and Jennings. Becca Mogabgab ’29 defeated St. Louis Catholic and Emmeline Singer ’26 defeated Notre Dame to add to the team total. The Cardinals were thrilled to finish with a strong team showing and a trophy to top off a great season!

Academy of the Sacred Heart has appointed Courtney Ward as Director of Athletics and Joseph Kepper as Associate Director of Athletics, effective July 1, 2026, following a comprehensive national search and community-driven interview process.

This year, 32 Sacred Heart students qualified for State Rally, 19 of whom placed in the top three in their respective subject areas. In addition, three students were awarded at the South Central District Rally in Visual Arts.
