The varsity basketball team gained two more wins against district opponents Sophie B. Wright and John F. Kennedy last week. Leah Varsico’26 led the Cardinals in scoring with 23 points and 9 steals vs. Sophie B. Wright. Zoie Kelly ’29 poured in 14 points and had a team high 6 assists. Libby Fitzpatrick’26 turned in 8 points in the contest while Sophie Lo ’26 hit two 3 pointers. Lily Varsico ’27 and Olivia Gravolet ’28 both grabbed a team high 5 rebounds each. The team then managed to get everyone involved in defeating John F. Kennedy. The Cardinals had 12 players in the scoring column in this matchup. Libby Fitzpatrick ’26 led the way with 14 points followed by Zoie Kelly’29 with 12 points. Lily Varsico’27 and Leah Varisco ’26 both had 8 points in the contest. Followed by Mary Fitzpatrick ’29 (7 points), Ellen Guste ’30 (6 points), Rosie Varisco ’28 (4 points), Birdie Berniard ’29 (4 points), Olivia Truxillo ’30, Louisiana Paladino ’26, Sophie Lo ’26, and Olivia Gravolet ’28 all turned got at least one basket.While Kate Vincent’29 didn’t get the scoring opportunity but played stellar defense and got 3 takeaways in the contest.
