The Sacred Heart Varsity Tennis Team remains undefeated after another week of matches! On Monday, the Cardinals moved to 4-0 in the season with a 4-1 victory over the Willow School.  Zoe McCall ’28 was dominant on second singles, dropping only 2 games. Elodie Scafidel ’26 and Page P. ’30 played strong together and secured their victory on third doubles while also dropping only 2 games.  Charlotte Jenkins ’27 and Elise Scafidel ’28 worked great together to win on first doubles with the score of 6-4, 6-1. Georgia Dazet ’29 and Laine Suhren ’29 battled on second doubles to earn another victory in the closest match of the evening, winning 6-4, 6-4.  Emmeline Singer ’26 fought hard but fell to the Division II singles runner up. 

The Cardinals faced Ursuline Academy on Wednesday.  All lines prevailed to come away with yet another clean sweep!  To earn the 5-0 victory, Emmeline Singer ’26 and Becca Mogabgab ’29 both dominated in first and second singles, each dropping only 2 games through the entire match. Elodie Scafidel ’26 and  Penelope T. ’30 shut out their opponents on third doubles.  Laine Suhren ’29 and Stella Mestayer ’29 were victorious on second doubles, while Charlotte Jenkins ’27 and Elise Scafidel ’28 completed the sweep and only dropped one game in their match on first doubles. 

Congrats to Stella Mestayer ’29, Page P. ’30, and Penelope T. ’30 for victories in the first matches of their varsity careers!
