OUR MISSION
At the Academy of the Sacred Heart, our founding story connects us with the values of internationality and global citizenship. Our Foundress, St. Madeleine Sophie Barat founded the Society of the Sacred Heart in France during the 1800s with a vision for its internationality. That vision for a vast community of people of faith in action has both endured and prospered. Today, over 150 national and international schools of formal education exist across the globe in 41 countries of the world to educate young people.

This global network is connected even further to a larger network of educational programs in non-formal settings--community based organizations, church and nonprofit partners.

All of these educational initiatives around the world are united in a common mission to "make known the love of God through the heart of Jesus."

The Network of Sacred Heart Schools in United States and Canada
Guided by the global vision of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, the Network of Sacred Heart Schools is an association of 25 Catholic independent schools in the United States - Canada Province of the Society of the Sacred Heart, for the purpose of advancing the educational mission of the Society. The Network provides services and programs that promote and stimulate creative education and leadership framed by the Goals and Criteria for Sacred Heart Schools in the United States and Canada.
