We are officially launching a 5th and 6th Grade Cheer Team for the 2026-2027 school year, and we want you to help us bring the noise! Whether you’ve been cheering for years or have never picked up a pair of pom-poms, we want your energy on the sidelines.

No experience? No problem! If you’ve got a loud voice, a big smile, and a lot of Cardinal heart, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.

The Details:
Who: All rising 5th and 6th graders (2026-2027 school year).

The Vibe: High energy, hard work, and maximum school spirit!

The Goal: Show everyone what it means to be a Cardinal.

Games: The team will cheer for all of the home games for the 5th and 6th grade volleyball and basketball teams.

Practice: Mondays from 3:15-4:30

Cost: Approximately $350, which includes the cost of the uniform and cheer camp, August 15 and 16, 2026, in the Rosary Gym. After the first year, team members would only need to pay for cheer camp.

Upper School soccer interest meeting is open to ALL rising 9th through 12th graders including those who will be transferring into Sacred Heart. The Varsity Soccer Program will be hosting an informational session to any families who might be interested in having their daughter join the Sacred Heart soccer team. Last year we fielded a Varsity and Junior Varsity team, and our coaches are hopeful to do the same against next year.

Our Sustainable Hearts Used Uniform Sale is just around the corner. Find gently used uniforms for all students including Little Hearts. Have uniforms to spare? We’re excited to welcome athletes to try out for the Academy of the Sacred Heart Volleyball Teams! Next season, we will have two teams—Junior Varsity and Varsity—giving you the opportunity to showcase your skills and be part of the volleyball program.

FREE Athletic Physicals at ASH: Monday, May 11, 2026 ~ 3pm

Physicals at ASH

Date & Time: Monday, May 11 at 3pm (Tulane Sports Institute)

Location: Upstairs Track in the Rosary Gym (4501 Carondelet St.)

Cost: FREE (for all students participating in High School Athletics)

Note: Parents, please print this medical form . Then sign and date the form before your daughter comes to the physical.

In order to meet Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) eligibility requirements, it is mandatory for all students participating in Co-Curricular Athletics to have a LHSAA Medical History Evaluation and Physical Form completed and signed by a licensed Physician or Nurse Practitioner. To simplify this process, the Academy of the Sacred Heart Athletic Department and Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine will be offering a comprehensive physical/orthopedic screening on campus for all students. The physical will include a general medical evaluation by a Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine doctor of family medicine and an orthopedic assessment/evaluation by an orthopedic at the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine. During the 2026–2027 school year, the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine will be available, as needed, for consultation, evaluation and treatment of any injured student/athlete. The availability of these orthopedics allows the Academy of the Sacred Heart to offer a comprehensive sports medicine program to ensure the safety and health of all ASH student/athletes.

This is a great opportunity for any athletes to get the proper medical form filled out and it will be completed before the summer. Anyone that needs camp physicals to be completed is also welcome to come. There will be an orthopedist on site to sign off on these physicals.

ALL ATHLETES must have an up-to-date physical prior to participation in a sport. The LHSAA requires a specific form that must be used for the physical for all 7th-12th grade JV and Varsity athletes.

What is the arrival time on regular days?
Students may arrive beginning at 7:20am, and we ask all students to be on the third floor by 7:55am. The first bell rings at 7:55am. At 7:20am, faculty members will be under the bridge. We have two drop off lines, 5th Grade, 6th Grade and mixed grade drop off/pick up line is on the gym side of Carondelet under the bridge. The 7th and 8th Grade drop off/pick up line is on the main building side under the bridge. No student may enter the gate near the guard shack or the building prior to 7:20am. At 7:55am that door is closed and remains locked for the day. For security purposes, during school hours the only entrance to the school is through the front gate on St. Charles Avenue.

Sacred Heart offers after-care and enrichment activities fo Little Hearts through Middle Grade students in a safe and supportive environment on campus. Enrichment activities allow students a chance to try out new things and have fun ... like music, art, science fun, soccer, cheer, gymnastics, academic games and more!
