"Spending time in Chinandega, Nicaragua (on our summer service trip) allowed us to be selfless and compassionate. We were reminded of how fortunate we are and that there is still much joy to be had without even the simplest of luxuries, such as water. Having the opportunity to bond with people who speak an entirely different language and come from a different background is absolutely life changing in a way that can not be taught. Traveling to Nicaragua allowed us to change the world one swing of a pickaxe at a time while forming memories that will last a lifetime." – Adelaide '24
During the summer of 2023, 24 Academy of the Sacred Heart students and several faculty/staff/parents/grandparent worked in Chinandega, Nicaragua for a combined 1200+ hours of service work to bring clean running water to 120 families in the small community of San Benito #1. The project was facilitated and supported by Amigos for Christ > amigosforchrist.org

Academy of the Sacred Heart has appointed Courtney Ward as Director of Athletics and Joseph Kepper as Associate Director of Athletics, effective July 1, 2026, following a comprehensive national search and community-driven interview process.
