"Being in Nicaragua allowed me to engage and join with the community of San Benito to help them gain access to clean water. Despite their hardships, everyone that I met welcomed us with open arms and was selfless, happy and eager to begin construction on their water system. Their positive outlook and work ethic was inspiring and made me appreciate all of the modern luxuries that we take for granted, like air conditioning and clean water.

During the summer of 2023, 24 Academy of the Sacred Heart students and several faculty/staff/parents/grandparent worked in Chinandega, Nicaragua for a combined 1200+ hours of service work to bring clean running water to 120 families in the small community of San Benito #1. The project was facilitated and supported by Amigos for Christ > amigosforchrist.org

Academy of the Sacred Heart has appointed Courtney Ward as Director of Athletics and Joseph Kepper as Associate Director of Athletics, effective July 1, 2026, following a comprehensive national search and community-driven interview process.
