Teddy Tennis is a fun, educational sports program that introduces children to the fundamentals of tennis in an exciting and engaging way. It uses a unique combination of music, pictures, and teddy bear characters to make learning tennis both enjoyable and easy to understand for young children. Rather than focusing only on hitting balls, Teddy Tennis teaches kids a range of important skills such as coordination, balance, movement, listening, and confidence—all through play-based activities.

Would your daughter like to participate in open-ended, abstract, age-appropriate art projects? All of our activities will focus on seasonal events and holidays. We plan to enhance fine motor skills, strengthen hand-eye coordination, and develop an awareness of spatial relations. We will be using an array of art materials and introducing the girls to various art mediums. These activities offer the girls a chance to express their creativity, have fun in a social setting with their peers, and learn about the world around them!

At Soccer Shots, soccer is more than just a game. Our engaging, age-appropriate programs introduce children to the fundamentals of soccer while fostering teamwork, respect, and confidence. We create a positive, non-competitive environment where every child can learn and grow—all while having tons of FUN! Our goal is to instill a love for movement and build healthy habits that extend far beyond the soccer field.

Join us after school while we cook up some fun science experiments! We will combine science and cooking as we create some edible experiments, cook up some yummy treats, and conduct hands-on scientific experiments together. The girls will learn terminology related to both themes and have the opportunity to put their culinary skills to the test!

Is your daughter ready to explore a world of creativity and fun? Join us and experience the excitement of designing and building new creations while taking on challenges. Our program combines innovation, problem solving, and science to exercise their hands on learning skills. We encourage students to think outside the box as we explore various materials and manipulatives using tools like the Rigamagig. The girls will strengthen their engineering skills in a supportive and friendly environment filled with loads of creative fun. 

GRADE LEVEL: K & 1st

Whether your child is brand new to the game or looking to sharpen their strategy, this fun and interactive chess class is the perfect place to build critical thinking, focus, and confidence. In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of the game while developing patience and problem-solving skills—all in a supportive, playful environment. Let the games begin!

Come join your fellow 4th graders on the Lower School Academic Games Team! We will begin learning the game On-Sets, in which players learn to create and describe sets of colored objects using union, intersection, set difference, set complement, the universe, and the null set. 

**Academic Games will have an added session on Monday, January 12, and their last day will be April 20th

Looking for an activity that builds strength, discipline, and confidence in your child? Welcome to Karate with Sensei Sergiy! In these engaging classes, students will learn the fundamentals of Olympic-style karate, build coordination, focus, and self-discipline, as well as train in a respectful and supportive environment and explore Japanese language and martial arts culture through commands, etiquette, and traditions. These classes are a great way for children to grow physically, mentally, and emotionally—all while having fun and gaining confidence!

With a focus on confidence, expression, and teamwork. This class is perfect for girls who want to perform and are ready to take it to the next stage. Each session will include vocal exercises, simple choreography, scene work, and opportunities to shine!

Get ready to stir, slice, and sizzle! In this fun and hands-on club, students will learn basic cooking skills, explore healthy eating habits, and build confidence in the kitchen. Along the way, they'll develop teamwork, creativity, and cultural awareness as they prepare a variety of simple and tasty recipes—from fruit salads and pastas to smoothies, sandwiches, and even crème brûlée!

GRADE LEVEL: 2nd through 4th

Mini Masters is a fun, creative class in which students will explore different art materials like colored pencils, oil and chalk pastels, paint, and clay. They will also be inspired by the work and styles of famous artists. This class encourages imagination, creativity, and confidence, and allows students to express themselves in a relaxed, supportive environment.

This high-energy class is designed to help our girls build confidence, coordination, and school spirit through fun movement, music, and simple cheers. Whether they’re whipping up a no-bake snack or creating a themed craft, kids will use their imagination, build new skills, and discover just how magical reading can be!

In this new offering, the girls will explore arts and crafts through various mediums, including paper and ink, acrylic and watercolor paint, pastels, Mod Podge, beading, and more, while listening to some of the greatest hits that span generations! Get ready to rock!

In this beginner musical theatre class, students will continue building their stage skills through singing, dancing, and acting—all while working together to bring stories to life! This class is perfect for students who are ready to take their skills to the next stage. Each session will include scene work, vocal exercises, simple choreography, and opportunities to shine in a final performance for families!

Does your child love to sing? Choir is the perfect place for young vocalists to explore their musical talents, build confidence, and experience the joy of singing as a group. Students will learn proper vocal techniques, practice harmonies, and perform a fun mix of songs. Although the Lower School Choir is an after-school program, the choir is an extension of the primary music program; the choir represents both the Lower School and Academy of the Sacred Heart during many events throughout the year. 

GRADE: 3rd and 4th

Sacred Heart is excited to partner with the Abrie du Plooy Tennis Academy to bring our students a fun introduction to tennis! Guided by certified tennis professionals, children will enjoy lessons built around hundreds of playful games and drills that make learning exciting and easy. Using modified equipment—soft balls, smaller racquets, and lower nets—students experience early success, build coordination, and grow in confidence while discovering the joy of movement and teamwork.

Sacred Heart is thrilled to begin our partnership with the Abrie du Plooy Tennis Academy to offer engaging tennis lessons for our elementary students. Led by certified professionals, Tennis II features 200+ skill-based games and drills designed to make learning fun, active, and rewarding. With age-appropriate equipment, players can rally sooner, develop proper technique, and strengthen coordination, agility, and sportsmanship—all while building a lasting love for the game.
