The Sacred Heart golf team participated in an intrasquad match play event on Monday at Audubon Golf Club. The girls were very excited to play in a team event.
The team of Grace Gunn ’27 and Caroline Hales ’26 jumped on the board early with a nice win on the first hole. They put the pressure on the other teams with a beautiful drive and a very nice approach onto the green.
The team of Sophie Lo ’26, Caroline Kenter ’27, and Evy Lauscha ’26 made a long putt on hole four to tie the match. They had an opportunity to win the 5th hole, but their approach shot landed in the sand bunker, and the team had a difficult time getting back onto the green.
Betsy Edrington ’25 and Maddie Rudolph ’26 were down two holes early in the match. They came back strong to tie the leading team on holes six and seven. Maddie hit a sweet chip onto the green, and Betsy drained her putt. Caroline Hales and Grace Gunn had an opportunity to win the whole match, but just came up short by missing a putt on the last hole.
This was a great opportunity for our young golf team. They learned to work together and to compete under pressure. Way to go, girls!
