Four Collegiate Athletic Signings for Sacred Heart's Class of 2023

Four Academy of the Sacred Heart students in the Class of 2023 formally signed their intent to participate in athletics at the collegiate level in the fall of 2023.

MC (Mary Caroline) Mazzanti joined the Sacred Heart community 5 years ago and became a key member of the Volleyball team right away. MC had more than 1,000 kills for her career, she received First Team All-District accolades the past two seasons and participated in the LVCA All-Star game as a member of the East Squad. MC was also a contributing member of the Track and Field team. MC will continue her Volleyball career at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts.

Cami Davis will participate in Volleyball at Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi. She has been a member of the ASH Community for 8 years, was an active member of the 2020 State Volleyball Championship team and also participated on the Sacred Heart varsity Basketball team. Cami was a two-time All-District recipient in Volleyball.

A Sacred Heart student for 14 years, Mariella Congeni will continue her Tennis career at Sewanee: The University of the South with an intended major of Economics. Mariella was a key member of the varsity Cross Country team, played varsity Soccer her senior year and was a member of the varsity Tennis team for 6 years. Mariella holds the number one USTA ranking in Louisiana in the girls 18 and under division. Mariella’s numerous tennis accolades:

  • Singles state quarter finalist as a 7th grader in 2018
  • Regional singles runner up 2021, champion in 2023 
  • Regionals doubles champion 2022
  • State doubles runner up 2022, Singles State runner-up in 2023
  • All State 2022, 2023 
  • All District 2021,2022, 2023
  • Competed in the prestigious Ozaki cup for Team Louisiana 2021 & 2022 
  • USTA Louisiana State singles finalist 2020, 2021, 2022 
  • USTA Louisiana State doubles finalist 2021, 2022

Sofia Rodriguez, a Sacred Heart student for 15 years, formally committed to play Tennis at Rhodes College in Memphis with a major in Political Science. Sofia has been a member of the Varsity Tennis Team since the 7th grade. Sofia won the prestigious Heisman High School Scholarship, and was named All District, All Regional award winner the past two years. Sofia's tennis accolades include:

  • Regional Singles Runner-up in 2022
  • Regional Doubles Runner-up in 2023
  • State Championship Singles runner-up in 2022
  • State doubles Runner-up in 2023
