Sacred Heart 5/6 Basketball Playoffs 2024

Playoffs for the 5/6th grade Red Basketball team started last week when the team played The Willow School at HOME on Wednesday January 24 and what a game it was!

We finished with a 33-6 win to move on to the second round. KK D. ’31 led the team with 11 points followed by Coco V. ’30 and Olivia T. ’30 with 6 points each. Ellen G. ’30 scored 4 points while Lilian L. ’30, Margaret M. ’30 and Hartley P. ’30 each put up 2 points. Sydney S. ’30 and Olivia each had 4 steals and Lilian had 4 rebounds. Way to go Cardinals.

Wednesday, the team fell short, 15-11, against Ursuline at Ursuline in a hard fight till the end. Coco V. ’30 led with 5 points, 5 steals and had 2 rebounds.  KK D. ’31 had 4 steals and Lilian L. ’30 led with 4 rebounds. Great season Ladies!

They learned a new play in one day and executed it in their game! They were competitive, super aggressive, and resilient this season! As always, they had amazing sportsmanship, and were highly eager to get in and play! 

Our great defensive players with 5 steals, 7 rebounds, multiple jump ball's and four fouls in total were: Helen A. ’31, Anne A. ’31, Lucy B. ’30, Mazie S. ’31, Ann Frances H. ’30, Bea C. ’30 and Adelaide B. ’31. Our great offensive ball-handlers/guards, who ran plays, were: Margot L. ’31, Isabel St. ’31, Sydney H. ’30, Hailey T. ’30, Emeline E. ’31, and Claire M. ’30! Lastly, our scorers of the game were: Margot L. ’31 with a jump shot (2pts), Anne Frances H. ’30 at the free throw line (1pt)! 

We are proud of the girls' dedication and grit to give their all on the court in their last game of the season!
