Two seniors at the Academy of the Sacred Heart formally signed their intent to participate in athletics at the collegiate level. Claire Moreau will be a part of the track & field team at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA, and Madison Milano will play soccer at Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. The two student-athletes were joined by their Sacred Heart coaches, families, and the entire Upper School on April 6 to celebrate their decision to compete at the collegiate level.

"Only six percent of high school athletes go on to compete in college," says Sarah Reiss, Athletic Director at Sacred Heart. "Playing at the collegiate level requires athletic talent, but more critically, these athletes made the decision that they are not finished competing in the sports that they love."

Moreau has earned many accolades in both indoor and outdoor track & field over her six-year career as a varsity athlete, including an individual state championship and four state runner-up titles in the high jump and state bronze medals in both the javelin and 100-meter hurdles. She was a member of Sacred Heart's indoor track & field state championship team in 2018 and outdoor track & field state runner-up team in 2014.

Milano is a four-year varsity soccer team member. As goalkeeper, she led the team to a state runner-up title in 2016, as well as two state semifinal appearances in 2015 and 2018.
