Actor Jimez Alexander discusses acting, storytelling and flight school for his role in the play FLY
Soline Holmes, Mater Campus Librarian

Sacred Heart was honored to host Jimez Alexander, the lead actor in "Fly" currently premiering locally at the Jefferson Performing Arts Society. "Fly" tells the story of four of the heroic Tuskegee Airmen of World War II.

Jimez spoke to students in PK-4th grade about acting, puppets, the history of the Tuskegee Airmen (some of whom were women!), and how he researched the role by learning to fly a plane similar to the P51 Mustang.

Jimez explained that even though he learned how to fly a real plane, on stage, he had to use his imagination to make the "plane" (made out of several boxes) real.

Jimez answered student questions and helped them write a mini play (including a song!) about a jaguar and a monster that everyone acted out.
