Sacred Heart supports child author who writes for a cause
Communications

Rising ASH third grader Ellie Garrett joined eight-year-old author Callie Chapman on June 25 as Callie presented a check for $1,500 to Children’s Hospital of New Orleans. Callie, who is the author of Glitter the Unicorn, visited Sacred Heart last school year for a book reading and signing, and proceeds from her book sales (many from Sacred Heart) made this donation possible.

Callie wrote Glitter the Unicorn for the Expression’s Art Contest when she was just six years old. The story is about a unicorn named Glitter and her best friend Ellie (named after ASH student Ellie Garrett) and their magical adventure to Cotton Candy Land. The book was a hit, and Callie chose to donate the profits from her initial book sales to Children’s Hospital of Alabama. Since then, Callie has written two more stories, Glitter the Unicorn Goes to the Beach and Glitter the Unicorn Goes to the Moon, and continues to raise money from her book sales in support of Children’s Hospital.
