Over the weekend, the 6th grade students participated in the National History Day Regional Competition at the WWII Museum. Schools from all over New Orleans came out to compete for the coveted 1st through 4th place medals.
After months of meticulous preparation, the girls confidently entered the museum to present their exhibits and performances. These talented students answered every question the judges threw at them! Sacred Heart clenched several victories in various categories.
Violet C. won 1st place in Individual Performance with her one-woman show of the "Russian Revolution of 1917." Coco V., Vivian A., Elle F., and Claire D. took over their competition with 1st place in the Group Performance Category with their topic, "Media Impact on World War II."
Sacred Heart took home two victories in the Group Exhibit category with Lucy B., Lane C., and Amelia St. M. receiving 4th place with their project, "The Black Plague" while "The Space Race" created by Charlotte L., Lea G., Charlotte G., Camille H. and Claire M. achieved 1st place.
Each of the contestants who placed will be moving on to the State Competition on April 15 at the WWII Museum.
All of the 6th graders performed outstandingly. Congratulations to all!
