Graduating Senior, Ashley Ellis, was recently published in the International Journal of High School Research for her research on "Epigenetic Alterations of IL-1B Pathway Mediates Microglial Neuroinflammation in Neurodegenerative Diseases."

Reviewed by multiple experts in the field and with more than 60+ references, Ashley spoke about the process of her findings, "It took me about 20 weeks. I didn’t perform an experiment ... my article is a review article of around 65 published journals, and I synthesized their findings to provide an updated analysis of the scientific community’s current understanding of epigenetics’ impact on microglial neuroinflammation in neurodegenerative diseases. I submitted it and got accepted to be published in the International Journal of High School Research independently"
