Under the leadership of Academy of the Sacred Heart educator Dr. Wil Tyrrell, Sacred Heart students in eighth through twelfth grade recently competed in the annual South Central District Rally held at Nicholls State University.
Each year, more than a quarter of a million Louisiana high school students participate in nine District Rallies held throughout the state by the Louisiana High School Rally Association (LHSRA) to promote keen competition and to recognize academic excellence. Top performers then advance to the Louisiana State Rally.
This year, 31 Sacred Heart students qualified for State Rally, sixteen of whom placed in the top three in their respective subject areas. These gifted students next move on to the next step in the competition, State Rally Competition at Louisiana State University on March 4, 2023.
