Return to ASH: Covid-19 Protocols

Sacred Heart Safe. Safety is our number one priority during the 2022-2023 school year inside the gates. We will need to remain nimble, collaborative and creative as we adapt to circumstances that are beyond our control. In the event there are any urgent updates, please refer to your division emails for any changes to this information.

COVID-19 protocols 2022-2023

January 4, 2023

In response to the continued risks associated with COVID-19, The Academy of the Sacred Heart is actively participating in the sharing of best practices within our local, national, and international educational networks. Several of our policies have been altered to ensure the safety of our school community; however, in the context of a very fluid environment, we anticipate that additional changes in protocol may be necessary throughout the school year.

Parents are asked to keep their child home if she shows any signs of illness (e.g. fever, rash, flu, hacking cough, vomiting, diarrhea, flu, lethargy, etc.). If a student misses 3 or more days of school, she will need to submit a doctor’s note prior to returning to school.

If your child tests positive for COVID-19, please notify the school nurse at MLouviere@ashrosary.org. Nurse Mindy will calculate her return to school date and share it with you.

Your child will need to stay home for 5 full days, and may return on the 6th day, if the following requirements are met:

  • fever free for at least 24 hours
  • symptom free

If these requirements are not met by the 6th day, please let us know, and continue to keep your child home.

Moving forward, we will notify parents if there has been a positive case in your daughter's class/homeroom. At this time, students will not be required to quarantine, or “test to stay” at school after an exposure. Though, we realize this is a family decision and some parents may still wish to continue these practices.

Please feel free to contact Nurse Mindy if you have any questions regarding this protocol.

With hope and gratitude,

Micheline Dutil, Head of School

Mindy Louviere, RN
