Isabella Mannino named 2019 salutatorian

Sacred Heart is proud to announce that Isabella Michelle Mannino is the salutatorian of the Class of 2019. Mannino has received numerous academic and service awards, including the AP Scholar Award and the Rensselaer Medal Award for outstanding academic achievement in mathematics and science. A member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theata Math Honor Society, she has also served in leadership positions, including yearbook editor and chair of the junior class fundraiser.

An incredibly kind, compassionate, and hard-working young woman, Mannino has dedicated much of her time to serving others. She participated in the Sacred Heart Network Summer Service project, "Healthy Waters and Coastal Restoration," which focuses on conservation in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. She spends the majority of her free time as a nanny, caring for children as though they are her own and developing close-knit relationships with the families she works for.

Mannino participated in clinical shadowing for a local optometrist, as well as Camp Neuro at Tulane Medical School. She hopes to pursue a career in medicine and eventually become a doctor.

Mannino is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mannino II. She will attend Tulane University.
