Sixth grade students at the Academy of the Sacred Heart were formally recognized for completing the IBERIABANK Financial Scholars Program, an online program powered by EVERFI that provides financial literacy education. Students applied skills learned from this program to the sixth grade social enterprise, "Hearts for Humanity." Through this project, which is now in its third year at Sacred Heart, students developed, produced, packaged, and marketed items to generate funds in order to provide access to clean water for children at a South Sudan school in Africa.
Representatives from IBERIABANK and EVERFI presented students with certifications of completion during a ceremony on May 8. IBERIABANK representatives included Sacred Heart alumnae Meghan Donelon '04, Ashley Morgan '05, and Charlotte Smallpage Sapir '03. Representing EVERFI were Bethany Mackingtee, Lauren Pingul, and Ryan Swift.
