The Middle School cross country team competed in their first two-mile race of the season, which featured 294 total runners and 26 total teams. The Cardinals were represented by the minimum required runners necessary to score in a meet.
The five runners made their way to the starting line and knew that each one of them needed to race and finish, and those runners proved why they were there. CC Johnson '23 pushed her pace early coming through the first mile in 6:31 and then fought hard to keep her position. Her time of 14:18 was good enough for 14th overall. The next Sacred Heart finisher was Bryce Couvillon '24 with a time of 15:27 and 38th overall, giving her a new personal record. Adelaide Doss '24 ran a very strong race after months of training and finished in 16:56 and 96th place. Next was Eliza Capella '24 in 17:05 and 103rd and Maria English '24 and 17:09 in 109th.
The Cardinals' five runners earned the team a 10th place finish out of 26 teams.
