The golf team traveled to Lakewood to take on their rival, Newman. It rained most of the day with strong winds, so the athletes were allowed to play the lift, clean, and place rule because of the wet conditions.
Grace Jin '22 was first to tee off for the Cardinals, playing with the top two golfers from Newman. She battled the Greenies on every hole and finished the nine holes with a very impressive score of a 38.
Cassidy Lambert '21 was next off the tee. She followed the first group, and they waited a while on the first couple of holes. They finally had to jump hole four and go straight to five. After regaining her momentum and concentration, Lambert tied the lowest score of the day with a 2 under 38.
All of the athletes played in very tough conditions; it was not the ideal day for golf. Tyla Keys '20 and Shannon Plough '20 finished strong for the Cardinals and helped bring home a victory against a very competitive Newman team.
